Today we know that is very important to speak English, but not ever was like this, let's understand a little more about this language and why today is so important for us to speak it! / Hoje sabemos que é muito importante falar inglês, mas nem sempre foi assim, vamos entender um pouco mais sobre esse idioma e por que é tão importante sabê-lo!

We can divide English in three sections: Old English, Middle English and Modern English. / Nós podemos dividir o inglês em três seções: Inglês antigo, Médio e Moderno.
 

The Old English / Inglês Antigo

In the middle of the 5th century, three Germanic tribes invaded Britain, they were the Angles, the Saxons and the Jutes. The language was much different from what we know today, the vocable, the words was completely different. The English Language was formed from the angle-Saxon language and some words that come from that time remain until today, such as: he, after and brain. / No meio do século V, três tribos alemãs invadiram a Britânia, eles eram os anglo, os saxões (ou seja, alemães) e os jutos (eram da região que hoje é a Dinamarca). A língua era muito diferente de como a conhecemos hoje, os vocábulos, as palavras eram completamente diferentes. A língua inglesa foi formada a partir da língua anglo-saxônica e algumas palavras daquela época ainda permanecem até hoje, como he (ele), after (depois) e brain (cérebro).

Middle English / Inglês Médio

This period was spotted by the vikings invasion and the conquered of England by William the Conqueror, the Duke of Normandy. The 1066 year mark a period of some linguistic class division, because of the French influence, the language stayed divided by social classes, while the lower classes spoke English the upper classes spoke French. And then, in the 14th century English became dominant in Britain again, but many French words was added to English language. In this period the Latin also had influence as it was the official catholic church language it brought more influence increasing the Europe continental languages. Many other words was added, some of them was French words came from Latin, such as nature, table and hour. / Este período foi marcado pela invasão dos vikings e pela conquista da Inglaterra por Guilherme, o conquistador (também conhecido como 'o bastardo'), o Duque de Normandia. O ano de 1066 marca um período de divisões das classes linguísticas, por causa da influência francesa, a língua ficou dividida em classes sociais, enquanto as classes baixas falavam inglês, as classes altas falavam francês. Então, no século XIV, o inglês tornou-se dominante novamente na Britânia, porém muitas palavras francesas foram acrescentadas à língua inglesa. Nesse período o Latim também teve influência na língua inglesa, como ele era o idioma oficial da igreja católica, trouxe mais influências para o crescimento das línguas europeias. Muitas outras palavras foram adicionadas, algumas delas eram francesas que vieram do latim, como nature (natureza), table (mesa) e hour (hora).

Modern English / Inglês Moderno

With the German and Nordic consolidated structures and with the influenced vocabulary by the Latin and French, in the 16th century the English passed through the Great Vowel Shift, like the name it was a great change in the manner of pronounced the vowels, which altered many words, after that with the years this structure became a defined standard. A great example of this English is the Shakespeare poetry, which has a rhyme from the begging of the English formation, and this is almost the English that we know now days. / Com a consolidação da estrutura alemã e nórdica e com a influência do vocabulário do latim e do francês, no século XVI o inglês passou pelo Great Vowel Shift (Grande Mudança Vocálica), como o nome já diz, foi uma grande mudança na maneira da pronúncia de vogais, o que alterou muitas palavras, com o passar dos anos essa estrutura tornou-se um padrão definido.
 

The importance of the English today! / A importância do inglês hoje.

Today English is the second most speaking language in the world and the first second language most speaking in the world, which means that in everywhere you can communicate with the English, taking a few exceptions. Because of the United States are the owner of the biggest economy of the world and the influence of its culture (Art, music, movies, etc) and the fact that England was the bigger colonizer empire the English Language came where it's today! / Hoje o inglês é o segundo idioma mais falado no mundo todo e a primeira segunda língua mais falada no mundo, o que significa que em todo lugar você pode se comunicar em inglês, tirando algumas exceções. Devido ao fato de os Estados Unidos serem o dono da maior economia do mundo e da influência de sua cultura (arte, música, filmes etc) e o fato de a Inglaterra ter sido o maior Império Colonizador foi que a língua inglesa chegou onde ela está hoje!

It's a very important opportunity for you to learn this so widely spread language! Remembering that the most important schools and Colleges are in England and in the United States. Speak English well can give you a huge opportunity to grow in your studies and career, going to a great University where you'll speak in English and stay near the most important news about science, medicine, art, economy, culture etc. / É uma oportunidade muito importante para você aprender a falar esse idioma tão rapidamente difundido! Lembrando que as escolas e universidades mais importantes do mundo estão na Inglaterra e nos Estados Unidos. Falar bem em inglês te dará uma enorme oportunidade de crescer em seus estudos e carreira, indo para uma ótima Universidade onde você falará inglês e estará perto das mais importantes notícias sobre ciência, medicina, artes, economia, cultura etc.
