Egypt or Syria.A stone paste squared-off hexagonal tile, the white ground painted in black with two intersecting triangles to form a six-pointed star. The six triangles between the points of the stars are filled with bands of triple lines interspersed with tight scrolls. All around a central flower surrounded by a wreath of leaves and tendrils. Egypt or Syria.Stone paste squared-off hexagonal tile. The off-white ground is painted in black with two intersecting triangles to form a six-pointed star, with subsidiary floral motifs. A Chinese inspired foliate design showing two leaf-like elements on either side of a sweeping upward tendril that terminates in a spray of foliage. Ottoman Turkey. Iznik tile with underglaze-painted stencilled designs in blue and turquoise. The style is associated with tiles on the facade of the Circumcision chamber at Topkapi Saray. Mid 16th century.6.75 x 8.5 in. {21.6 x 17.2 cm.}
